The Prime Minister Boris Johnson has set out his four-step plan to release England from lockdown in the House of Commons. In this plan he has confirmed that theatres can resume performances from the 17th May (at the earliest) with social distancing and a limited capacity in place, dependant on tests.
With reference to live entertainment reopening in May, the Covid-19 Response, Spring 2021 document states that: “Controlled indoor events of up to 1,000 people or 50% of a venue’s capacity, whichever is lower, will be permitted, as will outdoor events with a capacity of either 50% or 4,000 people, whichever is lower.”
Returning to events, shows, restaurants and more in the coming months is going to be heavily dependant on controlled, regular, rapid testing.
If you are a theatre company or premises preparing for reopening, Test Assurance Group (TAG) can help you return staff and visitors safely to site with our bespoke, tailored, on-site mass community testing solutions using our unique, secure app-based system.
